Bots vs. Humans: Why Your Comments Matter More Than Google’s Analytics

Reading Time: 3 minutesFor the last week, I’ve been staring at the ‘truth.’ Or at least, what Big Tech wants me to believe is the truth. I plugged my life, my blog, and my history into the cold, calculated machinery of Google Analytics and Artificial Intelligence. The reports came back in shades of gray: bounce rates, engagement times, and acquisition funnels. But as I looked at the numbers, I realized something was missing. The data was perfect, yet it was completely wrong.

You see, AI has a blind spot. It sees the world as a series of open windows, but it can’t see what happens inside the ‘walled garden’ of a community. It saw a drop in traffic where I saw a surge in conversation. It saw ‘low engagement’ where I saw dozens of loyal friends sharing a coffee over a morning post. It reminded me that the greatest flaw of modern technology is its blind faith in its own completeness. AI can analyze the ink, but it still can’t read the heart of the story and that’s where you come in.
