😴 A Sleepless Review: This Thriller Stole My Weekend

I inhaled this book in four days. Frankly, the only things that stopped me from reading it in two were pesky biological necessities like sleeping, eating, and the occasional trip to the bathroom. Seriously, this book was that good!

Most books take 10 or 20 pages to grab me. This one had me hooked by the end of page one. It’s a conspiracy thriller that cleverly uses real, recognizable places, blending contemporary action with a grounded, historical feel. If you like a fast-paced thriller, this is a non-stop, full-throttle sprint.

Non-Stop Action and Unexpected Twists

Without giving away the plot, I can tell you that the themes—and the shadowy conspiracy organizations the story focuses on—feel disturbingly familiar to some of the chatter you see online today.

The pacing is phenomenal. The author drops the antagonist right into the opening scene, setting the stage immediately. From there, the story shifts into a relentless chase that feels less like a narrative and more like a high-speed, 72-hour international tour. You feel the constant pressure. Just when you think you’ve settled into the flow, the twist hits, and the way the entire story connects is genuinely unexpected.

The Perfect Reading Binge

The novel is excellently written, delivering a fun, electric thriller that you simply won’t want to put down. One feature I particularly loved? The chapters are small. This is a godsend! If you must take a break (perhaps to perform one of those aforementioned biological functions), you can easily stop at a logical point without breaking your flow.

This is the perfect book for downtime—a great beach, pool, or vacation read. It’s the kind of novel you can start and stop easily while lounging, or simply devour in one sitting.

This is the first of a six-part series, The Da Vinci Code is next and I’m already clearing my schedule. Even if it’s not your usual genre, this novel is fun, fast, and exciting—and the vivid descriptions will make you feel like you are truly right there in the action!
