Embrace the setback

Embrace the setback

Reading Time: 2 minutes
Daily writing prompt
How has a failure, or apparent failure, set you up for later success?

This is a stupid question. It is hard not to classify things as failures; I do it, and most everybody does. Everybody tries things that don’t go according to plan, and that is normal, but if we are true to ourselves, then the fact that we tried should mean more than the definition of success or failure. In truth, if you learned something and the only way you learn anything is by any plan or attempt that did not work. That is not terrible if you take those lessons and use them throughout life. I realize that is a hard concept and may not seem natural or easy to understand when you are down or upset, but it is impossible to be good at anything or succeed at anything without failing at something. Look at it as a roadblock or a course-altering event. Take the positive and apply it to something else, and move on. It was not a failure but a learning event, maybe unpleasant but necessary.
