List five things you do for fun.

DailyPrompt:List five things you do for fun.

Ok, wow, this is a good one. I’m not even sure I have five things that count as “fun.” Maybe a few… but honestly, I’ve always been the type who does things solo and enjoys it. Still, here’s my best attempt:

  • Watching sports — Back in the day, I watched a lot. Eventually, it started eating entire weekends, so I cut back. Now I stick to a few Futebol (soccer) matches a week, which feels much healthier for my sanity.
  • Noodling around on my computer — Half the time I’m productive, half the time I’m clicking things and pretending it counts as learning.
  • People-watching at the mall or beach — I grab a drink, find some shade, and observe humanity as if it were my own personal nature documentary.
  • Reading — Honestly, this should’ve been number one. I read a lot. Like… a lot.
  • Following politics — The chaos alone makes it feel like a sport. No jerseys required, just patience and maybe a helmet.

I guess I’m just wired for quieter, more solitary things. And honestly? I’m perfectly happy with that.

About Kevin, I spent 40 years in FinTech before retiring to

Rio de Janeiro to trade software releases for a front-row seat

to the beautiful absurdity of life in Brazil. This blog is my digital

porch, a place for unpolished commentary on book reviews,

daily gripes, and the random thoughts of a guy who finally has

the time to pay attention. I’m an observant realist with a deep

appreciation for history, a good quote, and the perspective that

only comes after the career ends. I write to stay sharp, to stay

honest, and to keep the conversation going.
