Do You Vote In Political Elections?
Oh boy, this is a loaded question begging me to rant, but I will refrain and stick to the topic. Yes, always, it is mandatory if I want to express what I think. If you don’t vote, you can’t complain. It is funny that voting is not mandatory in the US; in Brazil, it is, and I think everybody should vote. You know the old saying? “You get what you ask for,” and if you don’t ask, you get no say. I will not take this to a soapbox and will leave you with the following, of course, US-based. The founders were adamant about a no-party system for the exact problems we see today. I never vote a party line, I’m independent, and I believe in a representative democracy, which is not the same as a pure democracy. I am sad and frustrated to see what the US has become. People, get out and vote in November I fear if the current trend is not reversed there will be no going back. Ok, a little soap box.
