These are strange prompts, almost like turning back time and experiencing something again for the first time. I’ll play along.
For a book, I’d choose Barbara Kingsolver’s Demon Copperhead. It’s one of the most memorable novels I’ve read in years, and a full review is coming soon.
For a TV show, I’d pick NYPD Blue. It had fantastic characters and, in my opinion, helped reshape the landscape of television police dramas by bringing a grittier, more realistic style to network TV.
For a movie, I’d go with The Killing Fields. It tells the story of Cambodia during the Khmer Rouge era, following the Vietnam War, and highlights a tragic chapter of history that many people don’t talk about enough.
Those would be my three choices. What book, TV show, or movie would you like to experience again for the first time?
