What’s Your Best Tip for Budget Travel?
Is this “budget travel” because you have no money to travel but still want to go? If you can’t afford it, do the right thing: don’t go.
Stay home. Staycations are great. You can sleep in your own bed, eat your own food, and nobody has to hear you complain about how expensive everything is.
Or is “budget travel” because you can afford to go, but you’re just too cheap to spend some money and actually have a good time?
That’s different.
If you have to spend your vacation hunting for the cheapest flight, the cheapest hotel, the cheapest meal, and the cheapest attraction, congratulations—you’ve successfully turned your vacation into a part-time job.
And better yet, if you have to ask for tips on how to travel on a budget, you’re probably not traveling anyway. You’re showing off.
My best budget travel tip? If you can’t afford the vacation, stay home. If you can afford it, stop being cheap.
You’re on vacation. Spend a little money. Have a drink. Eat something good. See something worth seeing.
