Resilience.
I think we’re becoming too soft and complacent as a species. We want instant gratification, and we’re constantly looking for the easy way out so we don’t have to do the hard work.
But life isn’t easy. It’s hard, complicated, and it requires dedication, perseverance, and resilience.
That’s one of the great lessons life teaches us. When things don’t go your way, and they mostly won’t at some point, you have a choice. You can let the setback defeat you, or you can learn from it, get back up, and keep moving.
The difficult experiences in life aren’t always bad things. Sometimes they’re the experiences that make us stronger.
Resilience doesn’t mean you never get knocked down. It means you don’t stay down.
And I think that’s becoming a pretty important life skill.
What do you think is the most underrated life skill, and what experience taught you its value?
