I chose this quote today because it feels more relevant with every passing headline. It connects deeply to the Daily Prompt I shared below, and it reminds me of something we often seem to lose sight of.
At our core, the United States was built by people who came from somewhere else — people searching for safety, opportunity, dignity, or simply a chance to start again. That mix of courage and hope is the cornerstone of who we are. Yet lately, it feels like we’re drifting away from that truth. The tone of our conversations, the way we talk about one another, the way we react to the world around us — it all suggests we’re slowly forgetting our shared humanity.
