Introducing: The Daily Gripe

Starting Monday, 2/2/2026, I’ll be launching a short daily feature here called The Daily Gripe.

The image is generated by Gemini

This is not a rant, a pile-on, or an outrage machine.

It’s a simple, disciplined space for one clear complaint per day—about something small, human, mildly annoying, or quietly absurd in modern life. Think friction, not fury.

What to Expect

  • One post per day
  • One gripe only
  • Short, readable, and to the point
  • No personal attacks
  • No politics by default (unless the gripe genuinely earns it)

The goal isn’t anger. It’s recognition.
If you’ve ever thought, “Is it just me, or is this getting ridiculous?”—you’re probably in the right place.

How Participation Works

Readers are encouraged to:

  • Respond with their own gripe in the comments
  • Or repost the format on their own feed using the same title:
“The Daily Gripe – [Your Gripe Here]”
  • If you do, link back to the original Daily Gripe post so others can follow the thread of the day

Over time, this creates a shared conversation—different voices, same daily theme.

Why Do This?

Because not everything deserves a long essay.
Some things just deserve to be noticed, named, and then left behind.

The Daily Gripe starts Monday, 2/2/2026.
Once a day. No backlog. No catch-up.

If you already have a gripe queued up, you’re ahead of schedule. If you have idea gripes and would like to help grow the thread, send them along, and I will cycle them in.

I spent 40 years in FinTech before retiring to Rio de Janeiro to trade software releases for a front-row seat to the beautiful absurdity of life in Brazil. This blog is my digital porch, a place for unpolished commentary on book reviews, daily gripes, and the random thoughts of a guy who finally has the time to pay attention. I’m an observant realist with a deep appreciation for history, a good quote, and the perspective that only comes after the career ends. I write to stay sharp, to stay honest, and to keep the conversation going. I love my Patriots and Bruins, a life long fan in bad times and good. They have been quite good for a long time now! I love spending time with my wife the best times are just doing nothing; watching tv, talking or just sitting at the beach together for a few hours. Our spot is pier 60 in Clearwater. I love the time I have with my kids when I can, they are all pretty busy. Seinfeld is about the best comedy ever. You will see me frequently comment on the show and why my blog is about nothing.
