Welcome to my blog!

I hope you enjoy the post. Please leave a comment or Like.

Blog Post Frequency

Hello All,

First, a huge thank you for following and subscribing. Now that the blog is established and humming along, I’ve decided to settle into a smooth, consistent rhythm of one post per day. Up until now, I’ve been hitting you with two a day, but I think a daily flow will let us all breathe a bit easier!

What to Expect

The focus remains exactly the same. I’ll continue to keep things light, a bit humorous, and served with a healthy dose of sarcasm. You can look forward to:

  • The Capybara Award: My favorite weekly highlight.
  • Life in Brazil: Insights and musings from an expat perspective.
  • Reviews & Prompts: Book reviews, the daily prompt, and my favorite quotes.
  • The “Daily Gripes”: Retirement and the little things that keep life interesting.

Let’s Connect

I love reading your thoughts, and I try to read your posts constantly. While I can’t comment on every single post every day, I make it a point to provide feedback on your efforts whenever possible. Community is what makes this work!

I have two questions for you today:

  1. Frequency: How often do you post on your own blog, and how do you determine that schedule?
  2. Recommendations: Who else should I be reading? Please share other blogs I might have missed so I can subscribe and find new candidates for my weekly awards.

If you enjoy my blog, please share it with a friend who might appreciate expat humor.

Thanks for being here!

I spent 40 years in FinTech before retiring to Rio de Janeiro to trade software releases for a front-row seat to the beautiful absurdity of life in Brazil. This blog is my digital porch, a place for unpolished commentary on book reviews, daily gripes, and the random thoughts of a guy who finally has the time to pay attention. I’m an observant realist with a deep appreciation for history, a good quote, and the perspective that only comes after the career ends. I write to stay sharp, to stay honest, and to keep the conversation going. I love my Patriots and Bruins, a life long fan in bad times and good. They have been quite good for a long time now! I love spending time with my wife the best times are just doing nothing; watching tv, talking or just sitting at the beach together for a few hours. Our spot is pier 60 in Clearwater. I love the time I have with my kids when I can, they are all pretty busy. Seinfeld is about the best comedy ever. You will see me frequently comment on the show and why my blog is about nothing.

Supporting my work helps keep this retired guy out of trouble and away from the TV—tips and pledges are always appreciated.

  1. Hello again! I do not post on a regular basis – maybe twice a month?

Loving your work! I will miss the twice a day posts!

    1. Thanks, maybe an extra will slip in there with the backlog 🙂

      1. Well I for one will be thrilled!

  2. I only blog when I travel or if something in life is particularly funny to me.

    1. Thanks for the reply
