The Weekly Blog Post Dilemma

Reading Time: 2 minutes

My intention was to limit myself to one blog post a day to avoid overwhelming your inboxes. However, I realize that I likely won’t be able to stick to this limit. Some of you may actually appreciate more frequent posts, I have been told. At this point, I have ten posts scheduled, about 30 written and waiting, over 20 more ideas started, and a planned series of 50 posts on just one book, Sapiens. That book review will be out later this week. With one post per day, I wouldn’t need to write anything new for over a year.

Given this, I think I have found a balance. I will try this week. I will post one topic post that you typically see, which will show up in your email. In my second post, I think I can restrict the email. At that point, you can go to the blog home page and use the categories from beingkevin.com to read anything you like. Finally, I am going to try to leverage a weekly newsletter that goes out to everyone with links to the weekly postings and anything that comes to mind. This will be my weekly summary.

With daily prompts, weekly picks, commentary on others’ posts, occasional brain dumps, personal updates from Brazil, a work series, and book reviews, my content volume is significant.

It seems that blogging habits have changed. While my original plan was to post a few times per week, many bloggers now post several times daily. This higher volume helps me select my weekly favorites and, in some ways, feels more valuable than much of the current news.

In summary, although I tried to limit my content, keeping to one post a week isn’t realistic for me. I hope this is acceptable, but please let me know your feedback. Feel free to filter these posts if needed.

If the post gave you something to think about, made you laugh, or even made you disagree, I’d love to hear from you in the comments. I welcome and enjoy reading your posts; book reviews, work series, brain dumps, life in Brazil. Truthfully, I enjoy all of them. Post as often as you choose and let the readers decide; you never know what particular topic might touch someone in a special way. Sláinte!

    1. Thanks. I hope you like the weekly newsletter summary.
