What activities do you lose yourself in?

I’m not sure I “Lose myself” in the activity. But the one activity I do consistently every day is read. I never miss a day, and it is something I find relaxing and enjoyable, as well as the one true way to learn not only about the topic but also from a different perspective. My favorite reads are historical and historical fiction, something I can learn from and relate to. I can usually tell if I like a book in the first few pages; the really great books are on the first page. An oddity for me: even if the book is horrible, I will read the whole book. I do prefer paper books, but given the space issue, I rely on an e-reader.

This is probably something I took from my dad. He was a big reader of just about anything from obscure Irish poetry to massive historical novels. I miss the time when we would sit at the table discussing books we had read. So I don’t “lose myself” more than it enhances myself.
