It was a few months ago, and I went to the mecca of the soccer world, the Maracana Stadium in Brazil, to see our team, Fluminense. I have been to a LOT of sporting events and some iconic stadiums, add this to the list of Yankee Stadium, Fenway Park, The Montreal Forum, and The Boston Garden. When I say the level of excitement at this game, which was a regular-season game, was off the charts, I am not kidding. I never witnessed passion like that at a sporting event. People hugged you, complete strangers hugging on a goal. It was wild.

    Seeing a soccer game in Brazil must be amazing. I’ve know a lot of people who have, but I have never even been to Brazil. The last sporting event I saw was Dallas Stars, hockey. Swedes like to watch hockey. However, my last live performance was watching a Huldra (a supernatural forest spirit) sing in the Norwegian Mountains. It was in front of a large group of tourists last summer.

      It was a wild and different experience. Brazilians are passionate about this sport, it is a life style, I have been to iconic stadium. I saw a 72 stanley cup game in Boston the old Barn as it is called, I seen Celtic playoff games there too. I have been to the Montreal Forum and Yankee stadium, the old one but I never witnessed anything like that soccer game. The world up when it starts should be nuts here.
