I wish I had a natural talent for writing. My wife is a writer. She can express herself beautifully in words. I admire some of the short stories and posts people have here and how they write. It flows, it has pace and rhythm. I don’t have that skill. I don’t have the creative ability to write a story. I don’t even know where or how to start. I can come up with some funny blog stuff and some satire, but I can’t write a story or something that stops you, and you just go, ” Wow, cool.” My wife can, a lot of you people can, but not me. I know my limitations, and that is good. Everybody needs to know that. If you want a smart ass or sarcastic comment, I’m your guy, but good creative writing, stories, poems, well, I’m Shrek.

Writing is an art that takes many varied forms. Andrew Wyeth, Charles Schultz, Andy Warhol and Norman Rockwell all had different styles. Same goes for poets, composers and comedians.
Don’t sell yourself short and NEVER compare yourself to others.-

You are a great writer, but like you say writing stories require a special skill, which I don’t have either. I am glad your wife has that skill. That doesn’t mean we can’t acquire it.
