This is one we’ve kicked around the dinner table a few times. We all have a list of places we’d love to visit someday. Mine isn’t in any particular order, but here it is:
France, England, Austria, Italy, Spain, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, Hawaii, and Las Vegas.
Nothing fancy here, and there isn’t a dramatic story behind the list. Hawaii and Las Vegas are the fun, relaxing, do-nothing destinations. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need.
The others are different. They’re about history.
Europe has more than a thousand years of history waiting to be explored. I’d love to walk through old castles, visit the places where two world wars left their mark, and stand in cities where famous writers, philosophers, scientists, and artists once lived. I can almost picture them sitting in a small café, talking over coffee and changing the way people thought about the world.
That’s what appeals to me most. It’s not just seeing another country. It’s experiencing the history that shaped it.
I think every place on my list would be worth visiting for a different reason. Maybe one day we’ll make our way through all of them, one trip at a time.
