What’s Something You’ve Done That Your Past Self Would Be Proud Of?
So, this would be something I’ve done recently that I would share with my younger self. It’s subjective, and any age range should apply, but I’m going with some serious distance as an old retired guy.
Monday: I stayed awake all day and did not take a nap. Apparently, I can still make it through a full day without shutting down for maintenance.
Tuesday: I tried lettuce. I know, pretty impressive. My younger self would probably ask what happened to the guy who considered vegetables a garnish that could be pushed to the side of the plate.
Wednesday: I got out of the chair without moaning. No groaning, no sound effects, no need for a spotter. A personal best.
Thursday: I remembered to take all my pills without my reminder. At this rate, I might be ready to manage my own affairs. Let’s not get carried away.
Friday: I pooped before my usual time. Maybe my constitutional is adjusting to North America. Retirement has given me the freedom to celebrate milestones that would have horrified my younger self.
Saturday: I did not get scratchy with anybody. Then again, I did not talk to anybody either. Sometimes the secret to personal growth is simply avoiding people.
Sunday: I went to breakfast, got a bit wild, skipped the toast, and had two pancakes. I know, somebody stop me before I throw caution to the wind again.
A little advice from the past:
Looking back, I think my younger self would be impressed. Of course, he’d probably wonder what the hell happened to me.
