If you had to get a tattoo right now, what would it be and why?
I do have five tattoos now, and at 63, I probably won’t get another. But I haven’t completely ruled it out.
If I decide to get one more—and I’m not sure why anyone would ever say they “have to get” a tattoo—it would probably be the American and Brazilian flags woven together on my right arm. I’ve actually considered it a few times.
I already have the American flag wrapped around an eagle on my left arm, with a banner that says 9-11-2001 — Never Forget.
Brazil, of course, is now my adopted home.
So I’ve been thinking about having both flags woven together on my right arm, wrapped around my Irish Celtic cross. It would bring together three important parts of my life: where I came from, where I now call home, and my Irish heritage.
And honestly?
I think it would look pretty damn good.
