When I Did Not Take Action

Reading Time: 2 minutes
Daily writing prompt
Write about a time when you didn’t take action but wish you had. What would you do differently?

I cannot recall a time when I failed to act but should have. More often, I took action and later wished I had not. For example, I made several financial decisions, such as purchasing a larger house and taking on a bigger mortgage, because my career was progressing and it seemed appropriate. In hindsight, I wish I had exercised greater financial discipline instead of being influenced by the pressure to keep up with others. While I recognize this is a common experience and that I sometimes acted emotionally rather than rationally, I have generally been decisive and accepted the outcomes of my decisions, whether positive or negative.
