If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?

It’s an interesting question because, at 63, it’s something I never really thought about. I was born and raised in New England before moving to Florida in 2014. A year later, I took my first trip to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Having spent most of my life in small towns and suburban neighborhoods, you would think a city as large and energetic as Rio wouldn’t appeal to me. Surprisingly, the opposite happened. From the moment I arrived, I fell in love with the city—its energy, scenery, culture, and people.

So, to answer the question: If I could live anywhere in the world, where would it be? I’m already living exactly where I want to be: Rio, Brazil.

  1. Same for me. Lived most of my life on the East Coast in the bigger cities but found my home in Hawaii and it definitely the place for me.

    1. Yup I grew up in the east coast too. Thankd you for the read and reply.

  2. I guess the fact that your wife is Brazilian probably influenced your decision a lot too.

    1. Actually this is kind of funny. Yes she want to come back but she was concerned for the safety. I actually loved it so much I kept talking about it 10 years ago for a retirement destination. She was not a no of course but I really wanted to go and try something new. Also, it is way more affordable than the US.
