What’s the funniest misunderstanding you’ve ever been part of?
Some moments never stop being funny. It happened at work around 2010, and the three of us couldn’t stop laughing for 20 minutes. I still laugh about it today.
It started with a conversation in my cubicle with my coworkers, Jin and Bob. We were talking about the fiscal calendar when Jin said, “fiscal calendar,” but to me it sounded like “physical calendar.”
I looked at him, pointed to the one sitting on my desk, and said, “What do you mean, physical calendar? It’s right here.”
Bob just shook his head, started laughing, and said, “Jin means fiscal, not physical, you jackass.”
That was about 15 years ago, and I still laugh every time I think about it. Even after that, whenever the fiscal calendar came up at work, one of us would inevitably say “physical calendar,” and we’d all start laughing all over again.
